I'd like to take this opportunity to tell you about FVPA Rivals. This post is quite long but covers a lot of information regarding our latest feature now live on the site!
FVPA have always been about improving your virtual pro and pro club experience. We deliver various features and events to reach our aims. We are proud that we are part of such an amazing project in iFVPA, involving various communities around the world to take part in international clubs. Something that had never happened before in the clubs world. We have also created applications like Eligibility and Interactive. Applications that have been custom developed to work within the current environment. We recently brought out clubcards, again another first for pro clubs community. As part of our continued push forward to expand pro clubs experience we decided to develop Rivals. Our biggest custom made development yet!
At the start of FIFA 12, FVPA Kelley invested into My FVPA which used the JoomSport software. We had many features tweaked and created to suit our needs all at a cost. It was a very useful tool and was a great aid for the recently completed season leagues. But we needed something more for us, something that we could add features too when we wanted. Something that was more FVPA rather than JoomSport. We came to the decision of replacing MY FVPA.
The idea of Rivals is to steer teams away from just being the highest rank team in the game. Yes its always a club aim to be in that top ten. Something most clubs don't manage to do. Forum club matches are the most enjoyable for most, even if the game is tight, you know at matchup its going to be a tough game. In Rivals, you will be able to see your head to head records against other teams. You will be able too see if you are in the FVPA's top 10 based on EA POINTS. This will show where your club stands within the community not just the whole of FIFA pro clubs against teams you don't know of. You will be able to increase your players value within rivals. You will earn virtual wages and wage demands will increase based on your stats within Rivals. Your club will have a budget and will have to try and stay above the red. Results against other forum teams will be automatically downloaded from EA themselves. So you don't need to add your results. We do that for you! For international players. You'll be able to be selected by your national manager in rivals and you'll be able to keep track of your international record! Clubs are not just battling it out to have the highest points. You will be battling out in various tournaments throughout the year. Tournament successes go into one big table, showing where teams rank based on their success during tournaments. Each tournament you feature in will give you the opportunity to earn tournament points. The FIFA year will be split into seasons. And all tournaments within a season will count towards the table. This is effectively a league season. So i'll breakdown rivals into sections so its easier to read!
-----------------
MY PLAYER
-----------------

First thing is first, creating a player. Takes less than 30secs to get your player into Rivals. Select Player registration from the player menu and fill in the console you are on, your PSN/GT and if you wish to be kept up to date on various signings, stats updates in rivals, add your twitter account. (see twitter section for more information regarding tweets). If your club is already registered, You'll be able to request to sign for your club here. If its not on the list, leave it blank and wait until your club has been created.
Once your player is created, you can edit your profile. You can customise the colour scheme of your public profile to any colour you like. There are various options you can go through on the edit profile option. Changing the Theme will alter the theme for browsing rivals. This is not the theme of your profile. Your player profile will show your stats from rivals and other various bits of information.
-----------------
CLUB
-----------------

Your manager will create your club in rivals. If you are the manager, Select Club registration from the Club menu. Your club must be on created in FIFA itself before you can register it on Rivals. Your club can only be created once. Manager of the club is able to edit the profile options of the club and accept and remove players from the team. Each club has a virtual club budget and other stats like a fan base and stadium capacity. More on this is explained later on.
-----------------
STATS
-----------------

Rivals is full of statistics. We download your EA stats on a daily basis. This includes your overall record, your points, your overall rank, division rank and other bits and pieces from EA. this information is displayed on your club profile. You can also see a table to see how your stats compare to other teams on rivals.
We also get some player information. The club member stats are displayed with percentage bar images to give a much easier idea on the players abilities during games. These stats do reset if a player leaves his club. So I wouldn't go by these stats too much myself. For those players who stick around in one club only. These are very useful to see on your club page. The percentage bars make it much easier to see how well you are doing.
Then we have rivals stats. These stats are generated whilst you use rivals and results are submitted. You'll be able to see the top goalscorer in your club. The top goalscorers on the forum and other stats like clean sheets for the defenders and goalkeepers. Player stats will be on your player profile. Any team stats like wins. Total goals scored. Most goals in a match will be on your teams profile. Player stats will alter your value and wages. See next section.
-----------------
WAGES AND TRANSFERS
-----------------

Each player is worth something in rivals. The more stats to accumulate and the more games you take part in will affect your worth. Defenders and goalkeepers will receive increases based on cleansheets. Although a team game to balance values out. Only gk's and defenders will gain on this stat. CDM's count also. Scoring goals, making assists and also being selected as the motm by the manager will all increase your values and wages by different amounts. The increase amounts are randommly generated between a range for each stat. This gives the values area a bit of flexibility and variety between players. Its not going to just increase by 100 for every goal. As that is a bit too static. The ranges for each stat are not miles apart so if you score two goals and your mate scores two goals. You will have different but similar increases. The motm is chosen by the manager. He can choose one player from his team for that match that he thought was the best player. He can use the EA motm suggestions based on the rating system they use in game, or they can use their own judgements. This is a way of a manager giving praise to his players. Being selected as motm will give you a nice bonus to your values. And may also give you a cheeky lump sum of virtual cash ;). There is no limit or rules to how managers award their motm and the home team and away team can have a motm each per game. Anyone found abusing the motm option by awarding the same player each time motm may then see us create a limit on the motm. Managers can award themselves motm if they do so wish.
Match stats are submitted by managers on results that come back from EA. I will tell you now the generic response to asking about your stats not being entered will be to speak to your manager. I've spent a lot of hours trying to make it as easy and as quick sd I can for a manager to submit his stats. The feature isn't compulsory but will enhance the experience for everyone if managers can keep up with stat submissions.
Admins or mods will not add stats for you. If your manager has been banned or no longer plays or uses the site. We can switch managers. But your old manager will need to confirm with us to do this. Or he can change the manager himself!
In the coming weeks, we'll be adding various things you can spend your earned cash on. Every 7 days you will be paid your wages from your club. So save up them pennys til you can spend them ;)
Transfer prices are paid when you sign for a club. If your value increases after you sign for a club. Your club will make a small profit on you if you move on. Clubs pay what you are worth. You cannot be transferred for a negotiable value. Although this maybe something I will look at in the near future. I don't want rivals to be opinion based. The stats will do the talking. Reason being, actual stats cannot change. Opions are always different. So having values based on stats is a better way to do things. So for now, club will pay the exact amount of your transfer value.
-----------------
RESULTS
-----------------

As I've mentioned. Results are downloaded from EA. you don't need to arrange games. This is all based on general matchups within the game. We all love beating each other. Do we not? But could you tell me how many times you have lost or won against forum teams? Well rivals will work all that out from now til fifa 13. We'll be able to see which forum teams generally do better against other forum teams.
Results generate cash income for the club. Each game generates 100k from our sponsors and advertisers, FVPA takes a cut on this 100k and the rest is dished out to your club. Winning a game will earn 85k and losing will earn 10k. For a draw each team earns 30k each. Fvpa takes a bigger cut for draws due to unhappy fans and a boring game. The difference between winning and drawing may seem quite big. Its to try and encourage teams to go for the win a bit more knowing their club will earn a bigger bonus. Each team is deducted a 5% charge for stafium control and the groundsmen at half time.
You will receive a added bonus based on your fans. The more fans you have. The more Money you will get. Fans will increase and decrease based on the result. Again random as their is no way of knowing how many virtual glory hunters will become your fans the more you win. You can gain hardcore true fans when you lose. But chances are slim and you will more than likely lose fans.
The more matches you play against other teams from the forum in a week. The more money your club will have. And like players. You'll be able to buy club items. Like new stadiums and other bits and pieces. But you also need to cover the wage bill and any transfer fees!
-----------------
RANKINGS
-----------------

There are various rankings tables available to look at to see where you and/or your club rank amongst others. You'll be able to see the players rich list on who is the highest paid players and other tables which you can expand to see the full table stats.
We also have the EA rankings table so you can see how your team stands based on EA data with all teams registered.
-----------------
TWEETS
-----------------

Some of you may be following our rivals twitter account. The account tweets as things happen. You'll be kept up to date of latest player signings, international call ups, results and many more.
You will see the twitter feed on some pages on rivals. So even if you don't use twitter you can still see the feed. So you can see the latest news within the rivals application.

-----------------
iFVPA
-----------------

Our iFVPA hosted nations are in rivals. Currently the iFVPA managers will be given access to their ifvpa teams. Managers can assign 16 players to the iFVPA team. Manager can kick and add players to this 16 at any time. Being a international player boosts your wages and value. So it does pay to be in that 16. I'll be expanding the iFVPA area of rivals soon. So that international records will be in place. We'll be looking to have international goalscorer tables and so on.
It will show where your Nation is on the world rankings table within rivals. So you can always check your nation through rivals. But for more detailed information. Make sure you check out the ifvpa.com website.
One last thing on this, managers of international teams will see more options on the club menu. If you are also manager of a standard club make sure your editing the correct clubs profile ;)
-----------------
TOURNAMENTS
-----------------

Tournaments will be run and recorded using rivals soon. Still working on this area as we have to create a system that can cater for various tournament types.
There will also be the introduction of a brand new concept idea. KALC. I'll leave kelley to explain this one further! But its a better simple way to run a league type event with minimal disruptions when a team decides to stop playing. The KALC system will simply continue and dropped teams won't affect how things run.
-----------------
KALC
-----------------

COMING SOON - KALC is an exciting new League based system, where your performance in Tournaments and Competitions accumulate points towards your KALC standing. There will be 3 to 4 Seasons per FIFA Version. More Details will follow Shortly.

SUMMARY
-----------------

Rivals grabs your results automatically. Your EA data which includes your points total are downloaded on a daily basis. Your profile can be customised to display in your favourite or team colours. Try out as many combinations you like until you find a combination you like. You can earn wages and your transfer values increase the more you play. Your club has a fan base and generates virtual cash based on match results. You can keep track of how well your team compares to the rest of the community. Rivals is adaptable. We've built it from scratch custom made to only work with our site setup so that if we want to add a new feature to it (which we will) then we can do. I hope you enjoy using this new concept to the clubs scene as I have had building it and hopefully the rivallry between teams grows and grows in a fun and respectful way.
