Fifa 13 - Online Virtual Pro Storage

  • PDF

As many of you know, the FVPA have been campaigning to EA Sports since Fifa 10 to take the hackable offline Virtual Pro file and move it online.

I looked back over some communication going back to 2010, just after Fifa 11 came out, we noticed and discussed in detail a hack for a 78% VP available just a few days after launch. Earlier on in 2010 we had word from EA that they were indeed trying to "fix" the issue with the seamingly easy way of hacking the offline stored VP file. However after seeing the first hack come out so soon after launch it was apparent the fix was not in place and we were to embark on another season of boosted Virtual Pro dodging.

The hack got worse over the course of the season rather than a copy of someone elses accomplishments - We saw 8ft Strikers on 127% - it was so blatant it was almost funny - At least you could see before you kicked of if a team had any boosted Pro's. Again this hack along with the whole hacking ethos, the why's and where's were discussed in great detail, with references including Videos, URL links to hack programs, forum posts all available to EA Sports and the developers - We were convinced this would be fixed in Fifa 12 after many hours of gathering information and discussing we genuinely believed it would finally sink in and we would get one of the most asked for changes in Pro Clubs.

On 26th September 2011 just days BEFORE Fifa 12 went retail, a 100% hack emerged. Links to a program file, forum posts and youtube videos were hunted down and submitted over the course of the next few days. We still remained optimistic that something would and could be done but to our amazement the only offering was to start identifying hacked pro's and banning accounts, the build up to this was widely anticipated and when the hammer started to come down we became more positive but as ever this was also too good to be true. The ban hammer was only effective for those who had hacked above and beyond the normally achievable accomplishments and so it didn't "fix" the underlying issue. More disappointing than anything was the ability to see the status of each VP in the match up lobby - this feature was taken out for Fifa 12.

Enough is enough, the frustration over the past couple of years of those who cheat to gain an advantage and EA not coming up with a Real solution to the issue after countless discussions and many hours of collating information and feedback we took it upon ourselves to setup an online campaign calling all Virtual Pros to have their say, time to vote in EA's new GameChanger initiative where the most popular game ideas that are voted on and discussed will be looked at in closer detail. We setup an Idea called FVPA - Clubs - Online Virtual Pro Storage, we added 3 reasons why:

1. To stop VP's from being Hacked

2. When replacing console no need to file transfer

3. Cross console compatible if you own Xbox and PS3

We went on a massive social media link sharing spree to direct people to cast their vote and comment if they wished - this was 3 weeks ago... Up to now we have 71 Voters who agree to the Idea and 13 That do not agree. 1 week after setting this campaign up and during our relentless Facebook and Twitter link sharing we received a tweet from @iminurbase (Garreth Reeder - Fifa Online Producer)

"@iminurbase: @FVPA campaign not needed"

As ever we remain optimistic that Fifa 13 will finally put an end to the hacked VP's - We really do hope this message means that VP's will be online and the efforts of everyone over the past couple of seasons to gain the much needed attention required will finally lay this topic to rest !

Many Thanks
