The FVPA’s UFP season 2 has come to an end after a highly competitive season for all teams and players involved. During Pre season a total of 8 teams were selected by the FVPA to take part in the competition. A few weeks after the season started it was announced that the 3 sides finishing in the top 3 will take part in the newly formed iFVPA Champion's League starting in February 2012. This gave all teams team's involved an extra incentive to do as best as possible.

The 8 teams initially involved in UFP season 2 were:

Going into the season with no outright favourites meant all the teams participating in season 2 felt they had a fair chance to go on to win their first league title. The season opened on November the 16th 2011 with PSHM 2012 facing FC SAMBA STARS over 2 legs, with both fixtures finishing 3-0 to the former which set out an early pace for the season ahead. FC Fornudden and PoplarYouth team opened their respective seasons with one victory each versus each other in two hard fought games. These were two highlights from the opening fixtures.

During mid season the league lost two teams due to them unfortunately pulling out due to in house club issues, however this did not spoil what proved to be an exciting and nail Biting season for all involved.  A few games were recorded by team members and can be seen by clicking here. FC SAMBA STARS 4-0 victory over FCF Fornudden was seen as the biggest shock of the season. This proved to all involved that any side could beat anyone on their day in this competitive division.

Going into the last week of the Season things were still very tight at the top, PSHM 2012 had to gain 1 point from their remaining two games with their closest rivals at the time Different Class on the 15th of January 2012 to secure their first ever league championship. The first game ended 3-0 to Different Class, and at this stage it seemed the long term leaders throughout the season was going to crumble in the final week. This now meant a win for Different Class in the final fixture would be good enough to knock the leaders into 2nd. However PSHM 2012 contained their nerves to secure a 1-0 victory in the 2nd leg to become champions.

The final fixture of the season on the 16th of January 2012 saw FC Fornudden in 4th needing a minimum of 2 points in their remaining 2 fixtures to secure the 3rd iFVPA Champion's League spot from under the noses of PoplarYouthTeam. FC Fornudden were the form team in the UFP within the closing weeks of the season, and continued their good form to secure two 2-0 victories over Talking Reds and not only secured the 3rd place needed, but snatched 2nd spot by 1 point from Different Class.

This season has been very enjoyable for all involved, and now that the league has been linked with the iFVPA Champion's League. This will surely make for an even more exciting season 3. The FVPA would like to take this opportunity and thank all players and teams who took part in a very successful season 2.
